Dirty Politics
***Push polling by local Dems is not 'dirty politics'. It is politics. Plain & simple. Bernie's column, though, raises the spector of Tricky Dicky Durbin pushing his way into Sangamon County Politics. Durbin can't seem to find time to mediate anything at the State level between Madigan, Evil Emil or Crazy Rod. But with his hand maiden, Neil Calderon doing his bidding, Durbin seems intent on grabbing some power in Sangamon County.
***Salaries at the Toll Highway Authority. I'm sure these folks do their job well. Of course, we never hear of anyone receiving a ticket from the Tollway even though they were never in the collar counties. Of course, as everyone knows, the Tollway runs smoothly and is one of the finest agencies in IL. Hell, they deserve even more money!!!
***The Obama descended from the Mount to speak with Evil Emil about bringing the Senate back into session to pass the ethics legislation. So the constant drum beat from IL Press and IL Voters may have worked. OR, because Dennis Byne's column got picked up by RealClearPolitics.com and went uber-national, The Obama's campaign realized they might get popped on this issue. OR, because Kelm & Kirk discussed this issue yesterday, The Obama picked up the red phone and made the call. Maybe....
***AG Lisa Madigan is wagging her finger at another corporation. This time she is 'protecting' our children from the big, bad MillerCoors company and its product Sparks. Remember she did this a few months back against AB and their energy beer. The thing is, there are already laws against minors purchasing this type of beverage. But as Chief Librarian in Charge, Ms. Madigan can't seem to find enough 'dangerous' products to sue over.
Of course, Madigan could hike up her tighty whities and actually say and DO SOMETHING about the tanking of IL. She could actually demand that Evil Emil follow the IL Constitution. She could actually take some action against Crazy Rod and his unconstitutional Rewrite to do Right idiocy. But, no. She's got kids to protect.
***The Charlie Rangel story is getting little coverage in the Coastal Media, especially the majors in NYC. They see Rangel as a nice, get along type of politician. Aside from the fact that he is in charge of the tax writing committee - Ways and Means - and he didn't quite figure out properly his own taxes, its no big deal. On to bigger and better things. Like why hasn't Sarah Palin released her tax docs yet....
***Wow. This country has treated people like this so poorly that even with all of the disadvanatages he still became a celebrated, wealthy NBA star. Yeah. He has all the reason in the world to hate his country.
