Obama Reform

***This from Bakke:    Rachel also says Chris McCloud, communications manager for the state Department of Natural Resources, called her at home to say that the agency would lock the gates of Gebhard Woods to prevent the rally from occurring there. Rachel describes it as a “threat.”

Though Rachel says the caller identified himself as “Chris McCloud from Springfield,” McCloud says he has never spoken to Rachel Pfaff in his life and certainly did not call her to warn her away from using the park for the rally. It’s a strange “he said, she said” situation. Rachel says her caller ID verifies her claim. McCloud says state parks are used all the time for all kinds of rallies and the state has no objection to that.

And, this:

Rachel’s local state Rep. Careen Gordon, who lives in Morris, has been helpful. Rachel also wrote to U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, but a staffer wrote back to tell her this is a state matter, not something for Obama (who might just be otherwise occupied these days).

Why aren't these stories unto themselves???  The IDNR 'spokesperson' is accused of making threats to someone who is trying to stand up the administration and she says she has the caller ID to provie it.

AND, The Obama's Senate Office doesn't believe that this is something they should have to handle because it is a "state issue"?!?!?!?  HE IS STILL A SENATOR FROM ILLINOIS!

The ONE PERSON holding up the ETHICS BILL and REVENUE FOR PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES is his political godfather, Evil Emil.  The Obama can't pick up the phone?  Can't tell Evil Emil to work this out?  How the hell should anyone thing that this guy is going to refrom DC if he can't even lift a finger for Illinois?

Call his office and demand that he call Emil Jones and that he demand passage of the Ethics bill and funding for IDNR & IHPA:  (217) 492-5089

***THEN, go to the petition that Bakke mentioned and sign-it today and forward the link to everyone you know and have them sign it!  www.gopetition.com/online/21603.html

***Dennis Byne has a great column about The Obama's lack of reform:

State Sen. Emil Jones (D-Chicago) is the Chicago machine politician who might have been most instrumental in jump-starting Obama's political career. Now, as Illinois Senate president, Jones is the one sitting on the reform legislation, refusing to call it for an expected favorable vote before it officially dies of neglect.

Jones is the pal of Gov. Rod Blagojevich, no friend of reform, who used his amendatory veto power to change the legislation after it passed both houses so that Jones would get another chance to kill it.
