No Depression
***Not pretending to know much about the major financial markets, there is still a lot of info out there beyond the CRISIS headlines in the major media that this financial blip isn't as bad as CNN would like you to believe. For instance, yesterday was a major drop in points - on the of the worse. Except it was only 4% of the market. The lib talking heads are throwing THE GREAT DEPRESSION around like beads at Mardi Gras. Unemployment during the Great Depression - approx 30%. Today - 6.1%. We better block off all of the tall buildings!!!
Also a lot of finger wagging about how "this is what you get from the free market". Wrong. What you got during a free market was mortgages that required 20% down because the banks wanted stability before they loaned out money. In the late '90s, Clinton and the GOP Congress decided to force the markets to loosen their regs and offer loans to people who couldn't repay. The interesting fact here, though, is that over the last decade or so, 20 million homeowners have been created. Currently, only about 1 million of those new homeowners are in default.
Did the big boys not heed the warnings? Yes. Did they keep feeding at the same trough and not take earlier corrective action? Yes. Is this the end of the world? No.
***Sneed comes out as a Palin supporter and non-feminist. With this be the first of many female written columns frustrated at the co-opting of feminism by the far-left women's movt? Paglia had one in Salon last week, but everyone expects her to be counterintuitive at this point.
***The Obama goes after WGN radio again. That makes sense. This time The Obama's anger is against David Freddoso who has dared to write a book taking a clost look at Obama's message.
***David Byrne on the eery silence from The Obama about the complete and utter melt down of the Democrats and the entire State of Illinois: Here's another example of how Obama has revealed himself to be a creature of the Chicago machine. Who can forget his silence when he could have affirmed his reformer credentials by endorsing Democrat Forrest Claypool over machine creature Todd Stroger as Cook County Board president? When things got too hot, Obama severed his ties from his racially inflammatory pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. That's not too hard; you can always find another pastor.
But betraying your political godfather(s) in Chicago and Illinois is an entirely different matter. Especially if you lose the presidential election and return to being just another senator from Illinois. Cutting his ties with the corrupt Chicago machine is one bridge you will not see Obama burn. Not now, not ever.
This is pretty simple. The ethics bill is about ending pay to play. The Obama could ring up Emil, his political godfather, and make the request. Rather, he won't. And, Evil Emil will do the bidding of Crazy Rod. Again.
***The media is clearly too busy trying to find any 'dirt' on Gov. Palin - did you hear she pushed to fire her former brother-in-law? Of course, you did. Did you also hear that the Public Safety Commissioner in Alaska has said she didn't pressure him? Probably not. Did you hear that the former trooper tasered his own 10-year-old son? Probably not.
Since the media is too busy in Alaska, they don't have time to bring you articles like this from the American Thinker: When the question is raised at all, reporters are quick to repeat Sen. Obama's claim that his relationship with the two former bomb-makers was fleeting and casual. Some cite Chicago mayor Richard Daley's defense of Ayers as a "distinguished professor of education" and "a valued member of the Chicago community." Why then should there be cause for concern?
***Eric Fisher of Springfield has NO idea how IL works nor what 'color' IL is. Mr. Fisher has a letter to the editor in the SJR today taking on Senator Bomke over calling for impeachment of Crazy Rod. Fisher DEFENDS Crazy Rod by saying: Illinois is a blue state trying to provide blue-state services on red-state revenues. Illinois is NOT a blue state. Take a look at the '04 & '00 county by county maps:

2004

2000
If anything Illinois is Red with hints of Blue. Mr. Fisher doesn't get it. Most of Illinois - not Chicago or Metro East - doesn't want Crazy Rod nor the Nuts running the GA to provide us with 'blue services'. Mr. Fisher, if you like blue services move to a blue county. Bomke is right. Impeach Crazy Rod!!!

You guys remind me of Martin and Lewis but it is hard to decide whom is who - sometimes Kirk (Jerry) plays perfectly to Dave (Deano) and others it's a toss up.
Keep me laughing guys - I love it.
Oh yeah, your maps are wrong - IL is a blue state - look at the asshole in the gov's spot and pile on the legislators - the only one I like is Black - put them all together and I feel very BLUE.
It will take years to fix this mess IF we vote out or impeach the idiots now.

slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
