Back at it...

***First Musharraf in Pakistan - done - and, now, it appears that Evil Emil will also be stepping down.  Word is that since he did not get the latest pay raise, he'll be looking for a better paying job with better benefits.

***Friend of the Show, Sheriff Williamson, looks to go for another term.  Good for you, Neil!  So, who do you think Tricky Dicky Durbin will recruit to try to take that office?  Of course, he is so busy attempting to reduce the size of the County Board, he won't be able to turn his attention to the Sheriff's office until after he loses in November.

***While this certainly seems to be the biggest 'fracas' of the Fair, during out time out there chatting with State Troopers, fighting is almost a daily occurrence.  One incident, we were told, included knives at the midway.

***The first debate/townhall/forum thingy of the race at Saddleback Church.  The Obama is going to have a hard time with evangelicals if his answer on abortion doesn't get any better than it's "above my pay grade".  Actually, as president, this type of question will certainly not be above his pay grade.  He certainly didn't deal with such questions well when he was a State Senator in IL and The Obama did a poor job at this one-on-one appearance.

***The Obama also opened the 'experience' door wide during his chat at Saddleback.  He said that he didn't think Justice Clarence Thomas should be on the Supreme Court (with a wink and a nod to his lib base) because Thomas wasn't a "strong enough jurist or legal thinker at the time for that elevation."  The WSJ takes The Obama to task:  So let's see. By the time he was nominated, Clarence Thomas had worked in the Missouri Attorney General's office, served as an Assistant Secretary of Education, run the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and sat for a year on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the nation's second most prominent court. Since his "elevation" to the High Court in 1991, he has also shown himself to be a principled and scholarly jurist.

***The Obama is sent from God, according to Botox NancyHe was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time."

***
Med Mal to come before the IL Supreme Court this Fall.  This might not be good for docs and others in IL...
