If it's Thursday, it must be a new Tax

***So, the City Council is just going to roll-over for CWLP doubling - DOUBLING - our water rates.  Is it possible the pump house needs to be replaced, yep.  That will cost about $84M.  Davlin, Renfrow and the Boys, though are asking for a rate increase that raises $180M - an extra $100M.

Don't you love how Renfrow speaks to the elected City Council - YOUR representatives:

“That’s why you have engineers working for the department,” Renfrow told Cahnman. “It isn’t all accumulated from one study. Until you can understand that, we can sit back and wait and wait and do nothing, which has been done for many years.”

"UNTIL YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THAT..." Is that anyway for ANY city employee to speak to an elected representative of the citizenry???  The question nobody can seem to ask and that nobody from CWLP is willing to answer is, WHAT IS THE $100M EXTRA GOING TO PAY FOR?

From yesterday:  $8M for a westside water tower and road work around the lake.  OK, and the other $92M?  Anyone?  Anyone?  Anyone?

The City Council should agree to a rate increase that pays for the pump house and a back up water supply.  IF the Boys think they need more for something, they should have to come back and ask for it specificially.  Right now the Council is preparing to turn over $100M to Davlin & Renfrow WITH NO ACCOUNTABILITY.

***For those of you who grew up in or around Chicago, you were probably a lot like my family and your folks listened to Wally Phillips every morning while getting ready for the day.  It wasn't that I was in the Wally Phillips demo, but his voice was always on in the kitchen when I got up in the morning.
