We're outta here...

Kirk and I are going to be off the air for the next couple of days.  Oh, except Kelm will be at McCormick's for lunch on Friday with 5 lucky listeners and their guests & Kelm and Kirk will be at the Funny Bone to MC the WMAY Comedy Night at 9:30 tomorrow night.

***So, this is what constitutes leadership.  Why doesn't the City mention the fact that the Nusiance Ordinance is even on the books (Chapter 98, by the way) and try to force the owner/mgt. to get rid of the folks who necessitate constant police calls?

***Blago to Stu Levine:

" 'Never discuss any state board with me,' " Levine testified Blagojevich told him in the Oct. 29, 2003, conversation. " 'You discuss them with Tony Rezko or [fellow Blagojevich fund-raiser] Chris Kelly.'

" 'But you stick with us,' " he said the governor added, " 'and you'll do very well for yourself.'

'Nuff said.

***We must be getting closer to another primary or caucus.  There has been a tendency during the Democratic race for the major media, with the New York Times carrying the banner, to publish/produce stories that paint Hillary is a bad light - 'she can't win without the Supers'; 'she needs to win with double digits or its really a loss'; etc., etc., etc.  Today, the NYT does it again with an article about how she can't really win the nomination.

***Well at least on journalist isn't completely under the spell of The Obama.  Kristen McQueary writes in the Southtown:

The editors seemed thrilled he visited their newspaper offices and finally answered questions he should have addressed months previously. They seemed quite satisfied with Obama's answers, although a Chicago Tribune reporter later said on "Chicago Tonight"on WTTW-TV (Channel 11) he was struck by the number of times Obama could not or would not answer questions, including how many fundraisers Rezko hosted for him throughout the years.

"(Obama's) answers actually showed he's not been truthful before on a couple of key points and couldn't and didn't answer all the questions," said Steve Rhodes, media critic and publisher of the Beachwood Reporter Web site. "There was a real split between the reporters who have been stymied by the Obama campaign and the columnists and (pundits) who are pro-Obama. Their journalistic guard no longer is up. They are on the campaign, essentially."

This from State Senator Dale Righter:

The two principal ways to solve the shortfall are to cut spending or bring in more revenue through a general tax increase, Righter said. The state senator predicted the Democratic leadership of the legislature will seek Republican support for a tax increase.

“This is a chance for us to say no, not without some change in the way we are spending money,” Righter said. “That conversation has to take place before state government as a whole comes to you and digs a little deeper in your pockets.”

Here's hoping his GOP friends in the GA remember these words during this year's session.

***We've got Dr. Robert Levy from the Cato Institute on this morning at 11am to talk about the 2nd Amendment Case before SCOTUS.  He is co-counsel for the plaintiff fighting the DC gun ban.

***Listen live at WMAY.com.
